St-stutter
My dad just made me realise I’m not as fluent in Vietnamese as I always thought I was. Wow. It’s like a kick in the nuts (if I ad muts I guess). I’ve always been so proud of the fact that I’m still speaking fluent Vietnamese when I’m around my family. But tonight, my dad was like, “Shit yo, I think you might have forgotten how to speak.” And I was like “Shit yo, I think I have!” (Then we both looked at each other as if to ask, “When did we learn ghetto speak?”)
I think it might be because my English vocabulary has now exceeded that of my Vietnamese. I always thought I was so awesome because I could speak, read and write fluent Vietnamese. I was just posing.
Oh and I also remembered that this year is our 10th year as Aussies. Woooo! Citizenship is awesome! haha
